James Thorne

James Thorne has over 20 years experience as a commercial solicitor, and has dealt with almost every conceivable aspect of commercial law from stock exchange listings and privatisations to mergers and acquisitions and public procurement tenders.

James’s work with GPs and other primary care practitioners has included;  reviewing and negotiating NHS contracts; setting up the governance and constitution of a variety of provider companies; negotiating practice mergers and acquisitions; negotiating pharmacy business acquisitions and pharmacy licence applications; and dealing with other commercial negotiations.

James’ particular strengths are his exceptional understanding of commercial law, his excellent drafting skills, and his ability to provide practical commercial advice and solutions to clients, rather than extensive legal treatises that are of little real practical value.

James is a jurisprudence graduate of Oxford University, and spent his first 7 years as a solicitor working with the international law firm Linklaters in their London and Tokyo offices before moving to a number of well known regional law firms. James’ other interests include his family and three children, rugby coaching, and a variety of other sporting and natural history pursuits.
