The pressure on small practices is relentless, leading many to conclude that mergers and acquisitions are the only way to survive. These combinations can take many forms, from loose federations to wholesale takeovers.
In this course we explain the options available to practices which wish to merge, and the relative advantages and disadvantages of each. We then explain all the legal steps which must be undertaken, as well as those which are not a legal requirement but are nonetheless strongly advised for the protection of both parties’ best interests.
We also consider what can, and all too frequently does, go wrong in a merger or acquisition, and set out practical ways to increase the likelihood of long-term success.
This course is recommended for all GPs and partners responsible for managing and developing the practice.
