Nigel has wide experience of acquisitions and mergers in both the primary care and pharmacy sectors, involving both partnerships and companies. He has acted on the incorporation of GP practices and the establishment of property-holding companies for GPs, including advising on the intra-shareholder arrangements. He is one of the leading experts on Primary Care Networks, having advised close to 150 PCNs on their network agreements, as well as acting for around 65 PCNs on the incorporation of their networks, the restructuring of GP Federations to make them suitable for use as providers to PCNs and on outsourcing arrangements between PCNs and third party providers, including NHS trusts.
Clients frequently commend Nigel on the speed of his responsiveness and on his ability to explain complex issues in comprehensible and light hearted ways.
Recent work highlights:
- Amending and commenting on the NHS’s template Covid Vaccination Collaboration Agreement, which the firm made available online to GPs free of charge
- Restructuring a GP Federation owned by nearly thirty practices to make it suitable for the provision of clinical and non-clinical services to four PCNs
- Preparation of a subcontract for the supply of clinical pharmacy services to PCNs by a specialist supplier
- Sale of a company which owned the freehold of a purpose-built medical centre for an 8-figure sum
